Eggs from our flock of mixed breed chickens.

These eggs are laid by:

• faverolles (Nugget, Multibelly, and Fluff Fluff) – medium pinky coloured eggs
• polish (Kylo-Hen and Chickoletta) – small white eggs
• lavender araucana (Sammy) – small greenish blue eggs
• salmon maran (Bronze) – medium / large dark brown eggs, often with speckles

We don’t wash our eggs, to save the bloom (this is the protective coating on the egg that stops bacteria getting in and helps to keep the egg fresh). Occasionally there might be some wood chippings on the eggs (we do try to remove them) or if the weather has been a bit dreich, the eggs may be a little muddy (although where possible, we keep these eggs for ourselves and only sell the cleanest ones).
